Why a sliding scale?

Access to veg boxes can be exclusive - we want that to change and for everyone to have access to great quality nutritious veg which is grown without chemicals, pesticides and artificial fertilisers, no matter what their situation. To make our produce more equitably affordable and help to tackle food poverty locally, we offer a sliding scale of payment options, so that you can choose what you pay for our veg. We ask you to choose based on your circumstances and what you are able to contribute. You know your situation best, so please choose after conscious consideration of the options below.

Standard

The standard price reflects the market value of the produce in your box and fully supports the real costs for us to grow and supply the veg in your box. This option is for people with a steady income, who are able to meet their basic needs and afford occasional extras (holidays, takeaways etc.).

Solidarity

The solidarity price fully reflects the real costs for us to grow and supply the veg in your box and it also allows us to collectively increase the social impact of the garden, and help people facing tough circumstances by supporting the subsidised boxes. The more solidarity subscriptions we get, the more subsidised boxes we can provide. This option is for those who are middle to high earners, can comfortably meet everyday costs, afford extras (holidays, takeaways etc.) and are able to save.

Subsidised

The subsidised price contributes to a portion of the basic costs of harvesting, packing and delivering the veg boxes on the day. This option is for those with a low income source, who struggle to meet everyday costs. If these prices are still unaffordable, please get in touch and we can discuss making this more accessible.
